NU - CON cept Luminous Daub / Paste

(Evidence disappears over time)

(Amazing - Mark your "friends" cards while they are being used)

Luminous markings are undetectable
by the naked eye,
even if you know were the marks are.

(You can mark borrowed Bee, Bicycle, Tally Ho or Hoyle Playing cards in front of the spectator without them seeing marks)

Advantages:

  • Great for performing magic with a borrowed deck

  • Simply by touching any red-backed playing card, you can mark cards right in front of someone, without them knowing

  • Only you can see the marks on the cards

  • Marks can only be seen by you, when you activate the filter gimmick hidden on your sunglasses

  • While pre-marked cards are permanent, the NU - CON cept Marking Paste will begin to wear off cards after several hours of use. This has the advantage of having any evidence disappearing over time, as well as using spectators own deck.

  • 4 densities are available. Each is designed to wear off in relation to various levels of playing card use. (see description below)

  • All the other features are the same as the permanently marked cards using the NU-CON cept Marking Solution, which can be  found on NU - CON cept Luminous Shade feature page

  • Easy to conceal. Each can of NU - CON cept Marking Paste is approximately 1 1/2 inches in diameter (round) and about 1/4 inch deep - supply will mark many decks of cards.

Note: Paste is only recommended for people who MUST mark cards while in front of spectators. If you can switch the borrowed deck for your own pre-mark cards, I suggest using the solutions since the solutions tend to be more deceptive.

How to apply paste to playing cards:

  • Secretly, touch finger to NU - CON cept Marked Card Paste and a small amount will adhere to finger

  • When you know a card's value (i.e. Ace, 2, 3, etc.) you touch the back of the card with your finger with paste. (The location of the mark is encoded by you.)

  • For example:    Ace             King

Ace daub mark            King daub mark

Different pastes for different uses

  • Paste is available in 4 densities. Each with their own trade offs (Normally ships with density #2)

    1. Soft consistency (Note: Improved formula as of July 2004)

      • Advantage: Very easy to obtain paste on finger, just a touch, will do.

      • Advantage: No dulling of playing card surface.

      • Can be a pro or a con depending upon how you want to use paste: Wears off playing card fastest, getting rid of evidence quick and easily

      • Best daub / paste for magic since mark can be removed easily

    2. Medium soft consistency (In my opinion, this is the best overall consistency. Therefore, it is the default product shipment.) (Note: Improved  formula as of July 2004)

      • Advantage: Paste is easy to place on finger

      • Advantage: Playing card finish is maintained

      • Advantage: Stays on card for a reasonable period of time (2-3 hours of use)

      • Disadvantage: While mark is invisible to naked eye a slight distortion in sheen can be seen only if you know what you are looking for and if light is reflected off the card at the correct angle. (Generally, not noticeable unless you know it's there.)

    3. Medium hard consistency

      • Advantage: Stays on cards longer than "medium soft" consistency (3-4 hours of heavy use)

      • Disadvantage: Slight pressure to daub / paste is required to have it adhere to finger. While daub mark is invisible to the naked eye, a sleight dulling of card's finish may be observed if you know where to look and if light is reflected off the card at the correct angle.

    4. Hardest paste consistency

      • Advantage (Stays on playing cards the longest, even with significant use)

      • Disadvantage: Must rub daub / paste a few times to apply it to your finger

      • Disadvantage: While daub mark is invisible to the naked eye, a sleight dulling of card's finish may be observed if you know where to look and if light is reflected off the card at the correct angle.
